Kristin Anderson is Roderick & Solange MacArthur Justice Center’s Managing Director of Operations. Working collaboratively with others, she leads key operational functions, including infrastructure and technology, budget and finances, risk management and compliance, and human resources. She is based in the Washington, D.C. office.

Kristin has more than 20 years of experience addressing inequality and poverty at the local, state, and national levels. Before joining MJC in late 2022, Kristin served as the Congressional Hunger Center’s Chief Operating Officer, providing programmatic and operational leadership to support the organization’s efforts to advance equity and end hunger. In prior roles, she designed and implemented health services for adults experiencing homelessness; trained 130 emerging social justice leaders as they worked to bring justice to the food system and end poverty; and provided technical assistance to community groups led by people in recovery as they advocated for quality drug and alcohol treatment and supports.

Kristin holds an MPH from the University of Texas Health Science Center, an Executive Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University, and a BA in Anthropology from the State University of New York at Binghamton. Her formal education was substantially enhanced by two years serving as an AmeriCorps*VISTA Volunteer in Texas.

In the workplace, Kristin is strengths-focused and finds satisfaction in working hard with colleagues to reach a shared goal. Beyond the workplace, Kristin enjoys podcasts, being outside with the people and pets that she loves, sports, building and creating things, and the many joys of living in a walkable city.
