Elyssa Spitzer joins the MacArthur Justice Center as Pro Bono Fellow with the Supreme Court & Appellate Program. In this role, she helps litigate criminal justice and civil rights issues including use of excessive force and inhumane prison conditions. Elyssa is also the Senior Fellow in Law and Neuroscience with the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics at Harvard Law School and the Center for Law, Brain & Behavior. Before joining MJC, Elyssa was a Justice Catalyst Legal Fellow at the Center for Reproductive Rights, Senior Legal Researcher at the nonprofit Measures for Justice, and a law clerk in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Elyssa earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School.
